Omotenashi Hotel was founded out of a direct connection to Satoru-san's hometown. The brand name itself reflects this focus, where “Omotenashi” means hospitality in Japanese, or to warmly welcome and care for guests.

A couple of years ago, when he had just expanded to 16 units, he shared on his social media what his ultimate goal was for his business: to create a warm lodging experience that feels just like visiting a friend's home.

"Our company is based in Asakusa, Tokyo. I was born and raised in Asakusa. After the pandemic, as I saw the number of international visitors increase, I thought it would be wonderful to share the charm of my hometown with travelers from around the world, and that is what inspired me to start this business."

Today, the company manages and operates around 70 rooms in total across several types of accommodations, including apartment buildings where the entire property is used as lodging, as well as standalone houses.
