Rentoro doesn't manage one kind of short-term rental market, it manages eight of them at once. Co-founder Alin Trîncă has watched that complexity build first-hand: the Romanian property manager now runs more than 100 properties spanning ski-town chalets, capital-city apartments, and Black Sea coastal villas, each with its own demand rhythm, seasonality, and guest profile.
A mountain destination like Busteni or Sinaia lives and dies by extreme seasonality and premium weekend demand. Bucharest, by contrast, has steady, year-round demand driven by business travel and events. Constanta's coast is its own seasonal curve entirely. Multiply that across 8 cities and 100+ listings, and pricing stops being a single decision and becomes eight different ones, made every day.
That's the problem PriceLabs and channel manager Channex solve for Rentoro, running genuinely different pricing logic per market, without multiplying the team needed to manage it.
Rentoro's portfolio didn't start out this complex. It began with a single mountain apartment, purchased and self-managed by a team that researched extensively, followed tutorials, and joined Airbnb and Booking.com host communities, all in pursuit of one goal, delivering the best possible guest experience.
Consistently strong guest reviews gave the team the confidence to manage properties for other owners, and the portfolio diversified from there: mountain apartments, then chalets, villas, and aparthotels. Launching rentoro.ro opened the door to Bucharest, Romania's largest and most active short-term rental market, followed by the Black Sea coast in Constanta, and then Brasov, Sibiu, Sinaia, Busteni, Oradea, and Craiova.
The result is a single company managing a genuinely diverse set of markets under one roof, extreme-seasonality mountain destinations, a steady year-round capital city, and a seasonal coastline, each requiring its own pricing approach.
In the early days, prices were updated manually. That was manageable for a handful of listings, but Rentoro's team quickly recognized it wasn't sustainable across a multi-market portfolio: rates need to shift constantly based on occupancy, local events, how many nights remain unbooked, day of week, and season, and the right answer to each of those questions is different in every market.
A single pricing rule applied everywhere would have been wrong almost everywhere. Rentoro needed a system that could hold eight different pricing logics at once, and apply the right one automatically depending on the property.
“As the portfolio grew, it became clear we needed a professional solution we could rely on, one that would help us maximize returns for the property owners we work with.”
Rentoro first heard about PriceLabs in the host communities it was already part of, where it kept coming up as the go-to dynamic pricing tool. The onboarding process helped smooth the learning curve, the volume of data and statistics felt overwhelming at first, but the rollout went smoothly from there.
What the team values most is that prices now react automatically to what's happening in each specific market: demand shifts, local events, orphan nights, and last-minute availability. Minimum stay recommendations and PriceLabs' market data help Rentoro set the right strategy for seasonal mountain resorts, year-round urban destinations, and everything in between, while the team keeps full control to review and adjust the strategy for every individual property, in every market.
PriceLabs integrated easily with Rentoro's channel manager, Channex, syncing rates automatically across Airbnb, Booking.com, and the rest of Rentoro's distribution channels, removing the need to update each channel separately as pricing changes.
“PriceLabs is our trusted pricing partner, and honestly we could not have grown this much, both as a company and in the quality of service we offer property owners, without it.”
Since adopting PriceLabs, Rentoro has been able to run eight distinct market strategies from one system, with gains in both efficiency and performance:
Managing rates by hand across 100+ listings would require a full-time team on its own; today that time goes into the parts of the business that actually grow it.
Rentoro's advice to other hosts and property managers: work with quality partners and tools, because they pay for themselves many times over. Two more lessons from the team:
“If you want to offer quality services to property owners and guests, work with quality partners and tools; they will pay for themselves many times over.”
